This was not my first choice for posting on this piece. I had an ultra smooth one I liked better but I couldn't get rid of a few flaws that really bothered me. So I used a different gradient and light map to cover up...
Don't you hate when that happens! You find this Awesome piece and do everything to correct a couple of minor flaws with no luck! It's enough to drive you crazy!!!
Yeah, maps are good for that sometimes ya get the right one,
very nice, even if it was your second choice
innstead of second choice you should have called it Dark Forest or something like thzt
i wish i had the cpu power to make these
It does make it hard. About the only solution for slow cpu is to work in a small preview window, keep iterations as low as possible (while keeping detail) and render final large resolution pieces overnight.
MB3D doesn't really need Major Computing power unless you want to do animations or very large Gigapixel renders. I do fine with with an ancient IBM P4HT/3ghz/3gig ram, with no problem, more power just means faster not better.
