Rusted Industrial Complex by HalTenny Rusted Industrial Complex by HalTenny
Instead of a city scape, an industrial scape. :) There are a gazillion free textures available on the web. I used a free texture from TextureKing www.textureking.com/

Made with Mandelbulb 3d and inspired by the man, MarkJayBee!

Can you briefly explain how to use textures with MB3D? Is that the same as a lightmap? Thanks Hal! Every one of your images is stunning and you were a major inspiration to me in learning to use this program!

I've never actually used light maps, so I'm not sure how similar they are. The way I use the 'texture' maps is in the object tab in the lighting window, I select "Use a map for the diffuse color".  Select the map you want to use. And then I almost always select the wrap2 mode, and scale the map to look the best. You can also move the map left, right, and up and down with the offset X and Y.

I think wrap2 works best for geometric shapes, and the others are more suitable for organic shapes... Hope that helps. And thanks much for the kind words. Inspiring someone is one of the best compliments I could receive! :)

Wonderfully done locale! I'm taken with the streaming light and rusty texture (both techniques still escape me...) but more so the rich, stark hard shadows. They give this punch!

Appreciate the kind words! There's a few volumetric light tutorials out there, here's a link to one I wrote... Mandelbulb3D Volumetric Light Tutorial and I'd be glad to help if I can. :)

Your tutorial has a spot on the desktop since the v-light teaser ;)  It'll dawn on me eventually - am probably reading right over some little bit time and again... The ah-ha moment will be worth it :)
